Thanksgiving Luncheon A Great Success

by Debera Nielsen PhD on November 29, 2010

We just had our 36th Thanksgiving luncheon. Put on by the children and enjoyed by the parents. The children help prepare the food over 2 days. Lot s of mixing and chopping goes into making stuffing, pies, potatoes, cranberry sauce etc. Then there are the decorations to make so we can decorate the table where the parents will eat.

Parents stream in at noon and everyone sits to partake of the feast. There is goodwill and a feeling of community and love as teachers and parents bond to care for the children.

An event like this creates something external-a strength of people working together and caring about each other. It is something only experienced when people come together to work for a common goal.
